Kenaf seed oil and byproducts are dependent upon sufficient US seed supply operations. First as a rotational cash crop for corn, soy and cotton farmers providing fiber/hurd in the US. Once it has sufficient supply for these farmers to meet the demands of US manufacturers, seed will become available for its valuable seed oil and its' byproducts.
Our first kenaf seed growing operation in the US is planned to start in the 2027 growing season on a commercial scale. This will be a test for profit, seed harvesting, and packaging of Whitten kenaf seeds for our US farmers growing for fiber/hurd.
Some research has been done and successful and listed in the headlines below. These will be additional kenaf markets in the future once demands for fiber/hurd have been met.
