Preface

So, what would it take to commit to planting kenaf on acres farmers already had available? Well, I ran this by a couple of professional farmers who are experienced in growing kenaf. Besides a signed agreement, they wanted some sort of guarantee that they would not lose money, on their upfront costs of seed, fuel for planting, irrigation, harvesting, storage space and the money they would normally make per acre growing other crops. This made sense to me and so I got busy figuring out how I could make this happen.

It took some time and a lot of looking and questions that were finally answered. Starting at the beginning of October 2025, the “How”, began taking shape and Kenaf Partners USA approach to this started falling into place. Since then, I have acted and found the key elements that need to be in place for it to work.

What is needed to make it work is a written and signed agreement of all the details on what a farmer can deliver along with their price, with the resources they have. Activation of agreement begins when the farmer receives down payment. Seed is supplied as part of the agreement

For manufacturers an agreement of what they require in detail. Activation of their agreement begins when down payment for farmer is sent.

Of course, these agreements must cover all the steps clearly laid out so there is no mystery what the farmer or manufacturer can expect and ensure each step is done as agreed. By reducing the unknowns as much as possible the risks are minimal for both.

This book is written to inform future partners about the part Kenaf Partners USA is committed to doing. This will help farmers transition to kenaf the new rotational cash crop for professional farmers. Provide manufacturers the help they need to transition to kenaf fiber/hurd/seed as a resource for their products.
